Drone surveys
We are licenced by the Civil Aviation Authority's (CAA) to use drones for surveys.
These now form part of a normal building survey where hiden parts of a roof or chimney head may not have been visible from our 4m ladder or 5m selfie stick, or combination of both. The quality of video footage allows still images to be captured and examined in detail. This adds another level of certainty to our previous assumptions on the condition of high-level elements.

This is a low resolution clip from a recent survey or a very large and complicated roof.
Drone surveys are expensive but there is no additional charge for us using drones to inspect your roof or chimney, like thermal imaging, this is a piece of our commonly used equipment. Building surveyors generally carry a 3-section, 3m 'survey' ladder. We carry two DJi high resolution video drones which allow us a much clearer picture of what is going on at high level. We much prefer getting onto a roof, and often do and dress appropriately, and sometime are able to climb onto tall tenement buildings, but this is a great piece of equipment where that isn't possible.
Below are just some images obtained from drone footage showing defects and issues or construction details thatwould not be visible from ground level. This information is vital in identifying the causes of dampness in some cases and adds greater depty and ceryainty to our already excellent reports.
